Foundation for Youth Sprint Triathlon cont....

We had a GREAT time at the Foundation for Youth Sprint Triathlon! Clint and Rae-Leigh were ready to save lives, particularly Emilie's, while they were out on the boat cheering on the swimmers! Greg and Emilie were getting down to business swimming, biking, and running; racing against the clock to beat their goal for the race! Here we are showing off our muscles after the race!

Jill's Diner

We took a much needed break from the office to meet the Justice League at Jill's Diner, a local downtown eatery. It was our first time visiting the restaurant, and the food was well worth the wait! We learned that Rayann had only a few short days left of the single life! Congrats to the newlywed!!

Fair on the Square

We woke up early Saturday morning and joined "Team America" and "Team Sizzle" at the Fair on the Square. We found a unique little booth selling unique little birdhouses. "Visitors Welcome" decided that the moon-shaped birdhouse was our favorite. Burgers, peaches, and coffee were bought... it was a great Saturday morning!

Block Party

We have waited all summer for BLOCK PARTY!! and finally it came! We enjoyed wandering the streets of downtown, listening to music, and mingling with other Amazing Racers! It was a real community event and memorable night!

The Secret Clue (Andy Mann's Edward Jones)

Since most of our group is new to the Columbus area, one of the first questions asked to us was "Who is your favorite nascar driver?" Our response was, of course, Jeff Gordon. Rather than be run out of the city by a crazy mob, we decided to have a change of heart. We now answer, proudly, TONY STEWART.

Our challenge asked "How is Tony Stewart tied to Columbus?" Tony was born, raised, and still has a home in Columbus. Not only he is a nascar champion, he is also a benefactor to the city as he continually donates to the community, most recently to the flood victims.

The Globe

After running around the City of Columbus we finally found the globe that floats on water! I don't know what was more difficult: trying to find this globe or managing to set the timer on the camera and running over to the globe while sharing a t-shirt with someone else! 3rd time is a charm... well, in this case.... 10th time is a charm!!

Skating at Hamilton Center

Ready to show off our ice skating skills, we gathered the gang at Hamilton Center. We quickly
learned that our skills were lacking compared to the prodigy 5 year old children skating around us! We found comfort skating around with the "training wheels."

Seven Wonders Tour

Us "Visitors" were very "Welcomed" at the Visitors Center before the Seven Wonders Tour. We joined up with fellow Amazing Racers and headed out to see the sights in downtown Columbus. Starting with the Chihuly chandalier at the Visitor's Center and ending with the Veteran's Memorial at the Courthouse, we had some time to bond with our competitors. Our favorite stop was the Irwin Gardens, so we posed for a picture with the whole group. What tour isn't complete with a picture of the double-thumbs up pose?? After taking a look at this great picture, we nominated ourselves as the 8th Wonder of Columbus!

Volunteering at the Fair

Visitors Welcome headed out to the Bartholomew County 4H Fair to volunteer with BCSC's Reading School Bus. We helped the school corporation sort though children's books, handed the books out to visiting children, and participated in story time on the carpet squares. It was fun to look through the children's books and reminisce of the good ole' days. We "boogied" with the kids as we read and sang the "Barnyard Boogie," and we may have enjoyed it more than the kids! "We're the barnyard gang and we're here to stay! We have a quackity-oinkity-ruffity-meowy-chirpity good time!"

Amazing Race Kickoff Event

Playing off our team name, Visitors Welcome, we arrived at the Amazing Race Kickoff Event dressed as aliens. I'm not sure if everyone got it, but our antennas should have given it away! We're excited to start the Amazing Race and can't wait to meet and mingle with the other teams!
